Human Connection

Human connection - that spark you feel when you meet someone and just know you’d love to work with them.
Over the years, I’ve built up a list of people I’d jump at the chance to collaborate with. Some I’ve met in person, others I follow online. I’ve always trusted my gut instinct with these things, and more often than not, it’s spot on.

Take one of my first clients as an example. I’d been following her and her business on social media for a couple of years, completely inspired by her work. I always had this feeling that one day, somehow, we’d end up working together. One evening, I spotted her at the theatre. She had no idea who I was, but to me it was like seeing someone famous! We exchanged a smile and that was it but I couldn’t shake the sense that our paths would cross again.

Fast forward to 2020, when I was spray painting my garden furniture (because, well… what else was there to do at the start of Covid?) I saw a post from her business pop up on Instagram: she was looking for someone to support her. I couldn’t believe it. THIS was the opportunity I’d been waiting for. I sent her an email, explained how long I’d admired her work and the very next week, we started working together!

And the best part? We’re still working together today. My hunch was right. She really is an incredible business owner and it’s been a joy to support her.
