Do you dare to lead?
Last month I attended the ‘Dare to Lead’ course in Edinburgh, based on the work of Brené Brown (If you haven’t read the book, I’d highly recommend)
It’s a Leadership training program which gives practical advice for personal growth and leadership. How to cultivate brave leadership and build courageous cultures with strategies for leading with vulnerability, empathy, and integrity and my GOODNESS was it challenging! Really got me thinking about my beliefs, my values and WHY I do things the way I do or think the things I think. To be daring means to do things I find challenging or have the difficult conversations, even when it makes me uncomfortable. Be vulnerable, put myself out there and stop making up stories in my head about what others (may or may not) think.
It was an intense, fun, inspiring, empowering, motivating and insightful 3 days with a lovely group of ladies and I’ve already started putting into practice what I learnt with all the great tools I’ve now got in my handbag (not literally)
Brené put it perfectly when she said "A leader is anyone at any level who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes and has the courage to develop that potential"
