You already know more than you think
One of the things I notice most when I work with founders is this: they know more than they think they do. They’ve been in their business long enough, they’ve made decisions, had experiences and learned things the hard way. They’ve built something amazing and yet, when things feel unclear, there’s a tendency to look outside. For answers, for direction or for someone to tell them what to do next.
It totally makes sense because when you’re in the middle of it, everything can feel close, tangled, hard to see clearly but that doesn’t mean the answers aren’t there. Often, they are but they’re just buried under noise such as other people’s opinions, things you think you should be doing or ideas that don’t quite fit but feel hard to ignore.
A big part of my role is helping people come back to their own thinking. Not by giving them a list of instructions but by asking the right questions, reflecting things back and creating space for them to hear themselves properly. And when that happens, you start to recognise what you already knew - like that decision you’d been leaning towards, the thing that didn’t feel quite right or the direction that actually makes sense for you.
It’s not about handing over control, its not about strengthening your ability to trust your own judgement but you’re the one leading the business, you’re the one living it day to day.
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
But you definitely do know more than you think.
